Adaptation and Mitigation

Everyday I wake up feeling lucky. Seriously, it doesn't mean I always feel ecstatic and joyful in the wee hours (I mean geez!), but I am aware how lucky I am to wake up in a comfortable home to brew my coffee, prepare myself for the day, and have time to get on my bike to ride to work. I know these routines are good things. I also know that they will probably need to change a bit to afford the Earth some time to heal and for future generations to have a life that is more about thriving than surviving. So, I present my Blog The Crunchy Towel Collective after my post from October 24, 2021. This post was a kick-off for my illustrated musings meant to be short, humorous and hopefully helpful when it comes to a future sans some things but more environmentally and mentally sustainable for us all.

Feel free to check out the other parts of this website, but they will probably go more or less unchanged for now as I commit to weekly blog posting with musings and illustrations.
I would love to hear from you regarding these posts, dialogue is my intent! If you would rather not post a response, fell free to email me with questions or comments at: [email protected]
Blogs, Websites and Podcasts I recommend:
Mother Earth Project: As a teacher I always appreciate kids doing great things and this project reminds me of other large scale art projects that made a difference like the Names Project and the One Million Bones Project.
The Hidden Brain: The research and stories in these podcasts have helped me understand people, myself included and why I do what I do and think what I think. It's a toe dip into metacognition!
Crazy Town: This podcast is a well-researched and informative about where we are in the climate crisis and why, and thankfully, it is peppered with humor and further insight from its hosts! Also, the art for each episode is very engaging!

On Being: This Podcast's interviews have provided me with thoughtful connections between the science, faith, spirituality, and even politics.
