I don't really consider myself a drawer or painter, but I learned how to do a bit in art school and have always maintained a sketchbook. In the last 10 years I have done a lot more than ever before and figured I would just put the work out there in the world. Why not?! This sketch was done of the Spiral Jetty when I did some work for the Great Salt Lake Institute. It was a great gig! In this work you can see that the lake wasn't surrounding it, it was mid-summer. Today the lake is even further away, which is heartbreaking. |
Sketches for FunSketching is a constant practice for me, it helps me look a little closer, contemplate concepts, and work out ideas for my 3D work.

50 Before 50This is a series that is in progress. The drawings come from the 50 hikes I took between the ages of 45 and 50. I completed the hikes, but the drawings remain illusive due to circumstances that gave me creative pause. One of these being my mother's death.
